The 2016 iDesign I.C.T challenge has arrived. The competition is an opportunity to develop skills in the area of I.C.T with the added bonus of possibly winning some fantastic prizes. This year, the student with the most innovative project will win an iPad Air 2 generously donated by former Bede Polding College student Mr Geoff Quattromani.
Additional incredible prizes will also be announced shortly. Watch this page for more details.
Projects can be anything involving I.C.T and can include website designs, micro control systems, innovative use of technology such as NFC chips (Near Field Communication). It could be a project involving 3D printing or gaming design and development. Your project could be an iBooks, Educational video or animation, a database of information, stop motion animation or a project displaying your skills with Photoshop. It could basically be anything that involves the use of computing technology.
The projects submitted will be judged initially by the College to create a shortlist. The projects on this shortlist will then be submitted to Mr Geoff Quattromani, a technology enthusiast and an ex-student of Bede Polding to make a final decision. Support will be provided for any student wishing to enter the competition every Wednesday at recess in CR1 by Mr Merlino. Ideas for your project should be discussed with Mr Merlino during one of the Support sessions conducted each Wednesday.
PLEASE NOTE - That the submitted must be the student’s own work and content, including videos and images. Every project submitted will need to be accompanied by a signed competition entry form (available here) indicating that it is the student’s own work.
The idea for your project should be discussed with Mr Merlino and this can be achieved during one of the Support sessions. All projects will need to be submitted by THURSDAY, 23rd of June.
All students entering the iDesign ICT Challenge will have the opportunity to enter their completed projects into the Young ICT explorers competition. This is an external competition open to all schools in N.S.W. Click here for more information
